TranSystems and our team promote the use of sustainable design for applicable projects, educates owners as to how a project is impacted and constantly researches opportunities to incorporate environmental resources into applicable and cost effective design solutions. Our firm utilizes the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) criteria provided by the U.S. Green Building Council throughout the design process.

The firm’s process for meeting sustainability goals includes involving environmental consultants, PM&E and all disciplines in the design process from the initial stages of the conceptual design. This enables the design to evolve from discussions that combine functionality with sustainability. The end result is an economic sustainable building that meets the LEED criteria.

In addition, key team members for all disciplines are LEED accredited professionals, awarded from the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design organization. Our most recent design for the dormitory at Shaw AFB is taking another step forward in energy by incorporating geothermal well systems. This project was just awarded the 2007 Energy Showcase Award by the Air Force.
